Editor

The Editor in GSelector is a multi-user environment used to edit the scheduling results displayed in this window. You can see how well your goals have been met by checking the Score for each log item. You can add, move, drag and drop, delete, insert and replace any item. There are several subsidiary windows used to edit content, or review how goals have been met. The Editor also has a Hotspots Filter to rapidly find the least successful items in the schedule. There is a full range of Keyboard shortcuts to speed up your work in this window.

Navigating in the Editor: the Date field and Hours slider bar

The schedule for the day starts at the default setting of 12A, but you can specify any Hour as a start point in the Broadcast Start Hour in Setup section Daypart Assignment window. The Date Selection  field and the Hours slider bar, immediately below, allow you to navigate in the schedule by entering a date and selecting an hour in the slider bar. You can also use the up and down arrow keys, the Page Up/Down keys, and the vertical scrollbar at right.

To view any date and time in the schedule, use the Date field and Hour slider.  Select the Date by clicking the drop-down or using the Keyboard Shortcut command  Shift+F10, and the Hour by clicking and sliding the blue hour indicator.

TIP: You can also open the Date control, and click or enter on a selected Date to open the Editor at that Date.

When you open the Editor window, it displays the last date and hour that you requested. You can jump to any hour by clicking and dragging the hours slider, or by clicking on an hour on the slider bar.

To jump to the start of the Previous Hour, use the keyboard shortcut F3. If the current hour is 12AM the F3 will jump to 11PM hour of the previous day.

To jump to the start of the Next Hour, use the keyboard shortcut F4. If the current hour is 11PM the F4 will jump to 12AM hour of the next day.

To jump to the start of the Current Hour, use the keyboard shortcut Alt+F3.

NOTE: When you select the AM/PM section of the hour field, the Spin Edit buttons allow you to jump from, say 7AM to 7PM, and vice versa. Note too that if you come to the end of a broadcast day, clicking the Hour spin edit field will take you back to the start of the day that is loaded in the Editor. The change the day, use the date field.

Current Airtime and Total Time for Hour fields

The current airtime for the selected log item, and the total time for the current hour are displayed at the bottom of the Editor window. When a Spot Block End row is highlighted the status bar only displays Total Time. These fields cannot be edited.

Gap Time

The Gap Time shown at the bottom of the window next to the Total Time is the difference between the duration between two ETMs, and the total duration of all program elements scheduled between those ETMs. A Gap Time of 0:00 indicates the scheduled program elements exactly fill the time between the ETMs. A positive Gap Time indicates the portion of the schedule between the two ETMs is overscheduled. A negative Gap Time indicates the portion of the schedule between the two exact time markers is underscheduled. Hit ETM's will be ignored when figuring the Gap time at the bottom of the window. The Gap time will respect the Include Average Runtime for Unscheduled Position option when selected in the Setup | Station | Features | Miscellaneous window.

Multi User Notification

The multi user notification system is a message box that pops open in the upper right area of the main GSelector window whenever another user has made a change to a song, a link or a schedule. The message indicates the change made and the user who made the change. It does not show changes you make, just others. This feature works best when users have been defined under GSelector security. Schedule changes made in the Editor are automatically pushed to all workstations. For example, if User A deletes a scheduled song in a particular hour and User B is looking at that same hour at another workstation, User B will immediately see the change made by User A. The notifications message box can be opened at any time by clicking the notification icon in the upper right of the main GSelector window. These notifications can be turned off by deselecting the Notifications options in the Notifications message window.

Save

Every change made in the Editor is immediately written to the database. This useful feature was necessary for the Multi User Schedule Synchronization feature to operate properly but it will also make work faster since there is no need to stop work and save the schedule changes manually.

NOTE: Use the Export to Zetta toolbar button in the Editor to send schedule changes to Zetta. To make this easier for you we detect those hours that have been changed and show a ‘Synchronize Changed Hours’ option.

Interactive Scheduler

The Interactive Scheduler button is used to setup and start interactive scheduling. Interactive Scheduling allows the user to interact with GSelector during the scheduling process where a scheduled song or link falls below the specified Manual Intervention Score Threshold.

Hotspots button

Click this button or where enabled, use the Keyboard Shortcut Ctrl+T to open the Hotspot Filter pane. This allows the user to zoom in on the worst score (the Hotspot) for one or more Goals tests.  For full details, see the Hotspots Filter pane topic.

Retest Day/Show Linear Violations

Click the arrow to the right of this button to select either Retest Day or Show Linear Violations. The Retest Day can be used after the user has edited the Day. It will also implement the current Hotspot filter if the Editor Hotspot filter pane is open. Where enabled, use the Keyboard Shortcut Shift+F9 to reapply all Goal Tests to the day.

The Show Linear Violations option can be used to dramatically call attention to songs, links, vocalists, artists and/or titles which are rotating too quickly. These violations will trigger the highlighting of a complete line in the Editor where the violation occurs. After enabling this feature, click the Parameters toolbar button to set a Turnover Threshold for songs, links, vocalists, artists and/or titles in the Parameters dialog box. Threshold is the maximum variance from the element’s or participant’s turnover allowed.

For example: If a song’s turnover is 10 hours and the song Threshold is set to 80% the Appearance will be triggered if the song is repeated within less than 8 hours of another play.

These Editor Appearances can be customized in the Global Settings Appearances tab.

The Score Slotted Songs and Links and the Score Specific Links options are enabled by default. The Scheduler does not score these record types during scheduling. GSelector will do a score calculation but it will not consider this score for scheduling purposes. The scoring is for visual purposes only.

For example: You use slotted on Category A and B but you want to see if there are any vocalist violations. For this purpose scoring the slotted songs is helpful.

To disable the scoring of Slotted Songs and Links or Specific Links, click the option to un-check the menu option.

NOTE: You may need to do an Editor | Reset Toolbar to see all these options.

TIP: You can re-test any position by selecting that position and right-clicking to open the Right-click menu.

When this feature is enabled, automatic schedule synchronization with Zetta, NexGen or Master Control will not take place until an hour’s Publication Status becomes Ready for Export. This feature allows the user to fully edit a schedule before it is exported to the playout system. Click the Set Ready for Export toolbar button and select one of the options; Changed Hours, Current Hour, Current Day and Hour Range to the Publication Status.

Synchronization buttons (NexGen / Zetta / Master Control users only)

An additional button is displayed when a GSelector station is integrated with either a NexGen, Zetta or a Master Control station. These buttons allow the user to synchronize all or part of the Schedule for the current Day (see notes below) in the Current Station with its counterpart NexGen, Zetta or Master Control Station. For more details, see the notes on NexGen Automatic Synchronization, Zetta Automatic Synchronization or Master Control Automatic Synchronization. When re-synchronizing schedules, NexGen protects the current hour, as well as the previous and next hour. So if you re-synchronize at 4:45 PM after editing in GSelector, your revised Schedule will not appear until the start of the following hour from your re-synchronize point, at 6.00 PM.

Master Control Export button (MC Users only)

  2. This opens an options drop-down.
  3. Select to synchronize Changed Hours, current Hour, the current Day, or a specific Hour Range in the Current Day.
  4. If synchronizing a Hour Range, your option opens a date and time range pane, where you are asked to specify the desired time range.
  5. Note that you can only synchronize all or part of the Current Day, and when re-synchronizing, NexGen protects the current hour, as well as the previous and next hour.
  6. Finally, click the Synchronization button.

Working in the Editor when GSelector is interfaced with NexGen

When a GSelector station is interfaced with the NexGen playout system, the current hour, the previous hour and the next hour are all 'locked' in NexGen. You cannot edit, schedule or unschedule these hours in GSelector or in NexGen. If for example you unschedule a current day after making some alterations to clocks, the schedule is protected in GSelector and in NexGen for the current hour and the two hours around this hour. When scheduling the current day in GSelector, GSelector start scheduling from the beginning of the hour after the current hour.

If Voice Track is selected as the Other item the chain type will default to X Overlap. If the option Generate Interstitials on Spot Block Insert is enabled in the Miscellaneous tab of the Setup | Station | Features window, if an Interstitial is an element of the Sport Block it will be generated when the Spot Block is inserted.

See Inserting Songs, Inserting Links or Inserting Other Items for more details.

TIP: This feature is disabled for all hours in the past, and two hours from the present time, when GSelector is integrated with NexGen.

Replacing a Log Item

TIP: GSelector will remember which of the subsidiary Editor windows were open when you last Replaced an item. If, say, you previously closed the Test bar window but left the Failure Details and History windows open, those windows will be opened the next time you Replace. To open a window, use the show selected windows toolbar button. GSelector stores different settings for Insert and Replace, so you can choose the windows you need to reference.

The Replace button in the toolbar offers two options.

Click the Left-most button to replace the selected Song or Link with an item from the same Song Category group or Link Category Group.

For Songs and Links, click the Right-most button to open a drop-down menu from which you can select an item range from which to replace the existing item. For Songs, search by Title, Artist, Album or Vocalist, Same Artist & Title, Same Artist or Vocalist, Same Packet, Same Song Group, Quick Filter, Criteria Filter, Criteria Filter Same Value, Fallback Categories, Category Group, Themes or Twofer. For Links, search by Title, Quick Filter, Criteria Filter, Criteria Filter Same Value, Fallback Categories, Same Packet or Link Category Group. These options can also be called on using the Keyboard shortcuts. Both menus also offer Advanced Search and Filters and Lists. Selecting Theme from the Replace menu will open the Select Theme window with the last used Theme highlighted. Once a Theme is selected then the Consideration window will open. When selecting the Twofer option, all songs by the artist that immediately precede this position will be suppressed from the Consideration pane. The songs displayed in the Consideration pane will respect the Match with Vocalist or Artist setting in the Classic Twofers section of the Setup | Station | Features | Twofers tab. The Classic Twofers settings will govern what happens when using the Replace with Same Artist/ Vocalist or "1" (Onefers) and when selecting Replace Twofers "CTRL 2" options in the Editor.

NOTE: This feature is disabled for all hours in the past, and two hours from the present time, when GSelector is integrated with NexGen.

The Top of Hour bar displays the Hour, Daypart(Region), Clock name, lowest Average Score in the Hour and Average Score for the Hour.

Archived Clock Dates

When a Clock is Archived, the active dates for the Clock are displayed in the Top of Hour Header. If there is too much text to display in the header - for example if the clock has a lengthy name - the details can be viewed by hovering the mouse over the header.

TIP: You can jump to the Clock Definition window for an Archived Clock in the same way as you jump to an active Clock, by double-clicking on the Hour Header or pressing Enter on your Keyboard with the Hour Header selected. However, you cannot edit an Archived Clock.

Filter Match Indicator

This icon appears at the left of the Log Pane to indicate all items that meet the criteria for the current Filter. See the notes for Finding items with filters for details on this process. When an item is selected in the log, the Filter Match Indicator is replaced by the selected item indicator.

Highlighted items can be are shown with a custom appearance, which can be edited in the Appearances definition window. If you have not assigned any appearances, highlighted items are shown with a default  color background.

TIP: You can apply a custom -designed format to the Schedule Contents pane and the Editor Consideration window in any station. See the notes on Designing and Assigning Log Formats. All fields available to use in the format are listed here in alphabetical order.

Artist Field

For Songs this field displays the Song Artist;
For Spots, this field displays Sponsor 1 information;
for all other Log Entry Types, this field is blank.

Category Field

This field displays the short Song or Link Category name and Alternate Category name if assigned; otherwise the field is blank. The song's normal category will be shown in parentheses following the alternate. Note an Appearance can be applied to any Log Entry Type, as well as to Categories. When an Appearance is assigned to a Category, this field-specific Appearance overrides the Appearance globally assigned to the Log Entry type. Category field. For details of working with Appearances, see the Using Color topic, and the Appearances definition and assignment topics.

TIP: You can choose to display just Songs, Links, Spots or Other items, or any combination of these by selecting the Entry type from the toolbar Content Filter button.

Category Group field

The field lists the Names of Song Category Group and Alternate Category Group if assigned, or other Entry types such as Exact Time Markers, Controls. The song's normal category group will be shown in parentheses following the alternate. See the Clock Elements section of the guide for a full detailed list of these other Entry types.

Packet Field

Where a Song or a Link is in a Packet, this field displays the Packet name; otherwise the field is blank.

Runtime Field

This field displays the Song or Clock Element runtime. Some Entry Types such as Exact Time Markers, Spot Block End and items that were skipped/failed by an integrated or reconciled automation system to not have durations; in this case, the field is blank. When the system is integrated with Zetta and the Runtime of an event changes the Zetta override runtime will be shown in parentheses next to the Runtime. By default the duration and runtime fields are shown with Minutes and Seconds and GSelector will round up or down the hundredths of seconds where needed when calculating runtimes and durations. Enabling the Allow Duration fields in Hundredths and Seconds option will change the durations and runtime fields (Intro, Runtime etc.) in Songs/Links and Editor to show the time in Minutes, Seconds and Hundredths of seconds.

Title Field

This field displays the Song, Link, Spot or Clock Element title.

Default fields

GSelector Editor pane default fields are displayed to the right of the Log Editor pane. They are added to all Log Editor formats, but can be optionally suppressed when working in Multiple Pane mode, working in the Multiple Pane Setup Dialog box. When activated in the Station - Features window, the Clock Schedule Column Settings also enable key fields used with sequencers. These fields, too, can be suppressed in the Multiple Panes by checking the Do Not Display Default Columns box. These columns can be moved an resized as needed. When a user moves or resizes one of these columns the layout can be saved with the current Browse Format for the user. Therefore, any edits to these editor specific columns in the Editor are only applicable to the current user.

TIP: Default fields cannot be removed in the main Editor mode, but you can optionally specify a Custom format which calls for a single pane and in this mode suppress the Default fields, which will allow you to access default field free format in single pane with one click.

Lowest Individual Score

A Song may have a good Score overall, but be failing relatively badly in one area. If there is a marked difference between the lowest and the overall score, this tells you that one of your goals is not getting you the results you need. You can review all your goals for any Song position in the Failure Details and Test Bar Windows. For more on how a Score is derived for any Song, open the Editor Failure Details Pane. For Exact Time Markers, Spotset Holders and Spot Block Start element this field displays the Gap Time. After Traffic Integration, GSelector adjusts the Runtime of Spotset Holders and Spot Block Start markers to reflect the cumulative time of the actual spot load.  It then displays the difference between the element’s intended Runtime and the cumulative runtime of the scheduled spots. This provides quick feedback on whether the actual spot load is longer or shorter than intended.  Consider a 2:00 Spotset Holder followed by one or more spots with a total duration of 1:30. The Runtime of the Spotset Holder will be adjusted from 2:00 to 1:30 once the spots are in place and the Gap Time will be -00:30, to indicate that the spotset is 30 seconds short. Given this information RCS would suggest the names of the Spotset Holders or Spot Block Start markers to include their intended Runtime - "2:00 Spotset," for example.

NOTE: When using Rotation Rules set to Breakable status, any Song that fails the rule and setting you define will be assigned a score of 0, and this value will be displayed in this field.  For more details, see the Rotation Rules and Station - Features window topics.

Score

The Score figure, shown in the Editor for each item in the Log, is a combination of all the scores for every goal set for the item in this log position. A score value is also shown in the score field for each item displayed in the Consideration window. If you think of your goals as your scheduling 'Yellow Brick Road'... this field tells you how far you have strayed away from the chosen course. The higher the value, the closer this song in this position is to meeting the goals you have set for this Song and its Attributes. The lower the value, the further this song in this position is from meeting your goals. The maximum score is 100. For more information on how the GSelector determines the score you see here, see the Scoring section of the Priorities Definition topic.

TIP: The more goals you implement, the more you create the potential for goal conflicts. If you have lots of goals implemented, and some of the demands you make are extreme - or in conflict with the natural balance of your library - the lower your score values will tend to be. When using Rotation Rules set to Breakable status, any rule that fails the setting you define will be assigned a score of 0. This will in turn bring the average score down. For more details, see the Rotation Rules Window and the Legacy Rotation Rules topics.

User Data

The Info field is used to enter data about the event. Click the drop-down arrow in this field to open a free form text field. This information can be printed out. If integrated with Zetta the user information field can be used to enter the External ID of the Zetta Rotation or Zetta Show that is to be scheduled. The User Data filed can be used to specify the filename of the Zetta External audio.

Status

This field displays an icon for the current schedule status of the log item. Hover the mouse over the icon to view the description of the status icon. The field can display the following status messages:

Scheduled - The Scheduled status is displayed if the item is scheduled and not moved in any way

Unscheduled - The Unscheduled status is displayed if the item has been unscheduled.

Flown In - The Flown In status is displayed when a related link has been scheduled using fly-In.

Inactive - The Inactive status is displayed when the History has reached the number of Active days set in Setup | Station | Features | History window. During startup, GSelector checks to see if there are any past schedule dates eligible for deactivation. If there are, they are deactivated, a process which reduces the size of the schedule and renders certain editing features inoperative. When a day is deactivated, each of its schedule positions take on a status of Inactive.

The following additional status values are displayed when GSelector is integrated with Zetta, NexGen or Master Control.

Playing - The Playing status is shown when an event is playing in the integrated automation system. When an event is showing the status of Playing the Editing options in the bottom toolbar of the Editor are disabled. Note: This status is only shown when integrated with Zetta 4.0 or higher.

Played - The Played status  is displayed if the item played successfully in the play out system.

Cued - The Cued status is displayed when the event is Cued in the integrated automation system. Note: This status is only shown when integrated with Zetta 4.0 or higher.

Failed - The Failed status is displayed if the item fails to complete such as, fading early or missing audio.

Skipped - The Skipped status is displayed if the item was skipped for any reason in the play out system.

Voice Tracked - The Voice Tracked status is displayed if the item was voice tracked using the play out system.

Scheduled Fallback - The Scheduled Fallback  status is shown when a position is scheduled using a Fallback

Note: The following editing functions are disabled if the schedule position has been sequenced (status of Played, Playing or Failed): Insert Song / Link / Other, Replace, Juggle, Cut, Paste, Delete and Move (via mouse).

Advanced Clock/Schedule Columns

These fields are typically used with Zetta, Master Control and other third party sequencers. Each field can be enabled for Editor Browse formats by checking that field's box in the Station | Features | Clock window. This will also display the enabled field in the Clock Definition window. When a Chain setting is selected, it will also display Chain Settings fields in the Fly-In position pane when defining a Fly-In Link relationship. The drop-down in the Editor Behavior column of the Clock tab in the Station-Features window can also be used to set whether to Juggle or Don't Juggle these values when two positions are juggled in the Editor. The default setting is to Juggle.

These columns can be moved an resized as needed. When a user moves or resizes one of these columns the layout can be saved with the current Browse Format for the user. Therefore, any edits to these columns in the Editor are only applicable to the current user.  Advanced Clock/Schedule Columns can be removed from display in Multiple Panes. For details, see the notes in the Default section if this topic.

Feature Tracker in Media Monitors

If you have login credentials for Media Monitors and an Internet connection on your GSelector workstation, you can add Annotations to your GSelector schedules to indicate where various Media Monitors “Features” are located.  After doing this, you can then use the Feature Tracker capabilities of Media Monitors to see the effectiveness of your feature programming.

Enable this feature by entering a valid Media Monitors Username and Password by clicking the Validate User toolbar button in the Media Monitors Interface window of GSelector. Then select a Feature Tracker Station in the Feature Tracker Settings window using the Feature Tracker Settings toolbar button.  If the Media Monitors Interface window is not available, contact a Media Monitors representative for a license.

After enabling the feature, work in the GSelector Editor to define one or more Features. Do this by clicking the right arrow button in the User Data column. Initially this will prompt the user to install the Media Monitors Audio Player. The Player allows the audio to be played using the Add Annotation play controls. Click the Please click here to install, to install the player to the local computer. Click the Do Not Install the using the Add Annotation window without the player.\

Clicking the Please click here to install will start the installer.

Click Next and then Install.

Note: This will also install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package which may require a restart of the computer.

This will open the following Add Annotation dialog box for the associated schedule position.

The dialog box provides navigation controls and an audio player for previewing Media Monitors audio directly.

  1. Use the navigation controls to precisely locate a Feature.
  2. As you navigate, the Date and Time controls will update to show your location within the Media Monitors audio stream.
  3. Stop the audio player at the point the Feature begins, then enter a Description.
  4. Click the Set Mark button.
  5. Check the Feature checkbox to declare the marked point as a Media Monitors feature.
  6. Click the OK button to save the Annotation.

You will then see information in the User Data column pertaining to the Annotation and Feature. All new or edited Features in the day are sent to Media Monitors when you save your GSelector schedule.

NOTE: It takes some time for the information to be transmitted and made available in Media Monitors. Once present there, use Feature Tracker in Media Monitors to analyze the Feature programming.

Average Lowest Score and Average Score for the day

These two fields are displayed at the bottom of the Editor Browse. They display, respectively, the Average of the Lowest Individual Score, and the Average Overall Score for all Songs in the Editor across the day.

TIP: You can filter the day's output by the lowest score, setting a Lowest Score threshold, below which Songs with Low Scores are highlighted in the Editor window. See the notes on Using Appearances with Score Thresholds.

Total time for day

This field, at the bottom of the Editor pane, beneath the runtime field, displays the total runtime of all items for the selected day. Some Entry Types such as Spot Block End and items that were skipped/failed by an integrated or reconciled automation system do not have a Runtime and will not be calculated in the Total Time for the day.

Time Fields

You can add a number of further fields to any Editor format. See the Browse Formats Design window topic for full details.
Airtime field

Cumulative Airtime

Airtime Field

This field, when added to a format, displays the airtime of the event calculated from start of each hour. This field can also be used in Schedule Reports, and when designing an Export Schedule format. Some Entry Types such as Spot Block End and items that were skipped/failed by an integrated or reconciled automation system do not have Air times; in this case, the field is blank. If the station is integrated with Zetta and the Hard Time value is set for a Zetta Execute Command, Zetta Macro and Zetta Record Control event, when the log is scheduled the Air Time column will show the Hard Time and the Zetta hard time icon for the event. Events played, in Zetta, from the Hot Keys, Stacks or Z-Player modules will show an injected icon next to the air time. Hovering over the icon will display a tool tip showing which module injected the event.

Cumulative Airtime

This field, when added to a format, displays the airtime of the event without resetting at the top of every hour, calculated as starting from the Broadcast Start Hour. This field can also be used in Schedule Reports, and when designing an Export Schedule format. Some Entry Types such as Spot Block End and items that were skipped/failed by an integrated or reconciled automation system do not have Cumulative Airtime's; in this case, the field is blank.

Working in the Editor

NOTE: Editor screens display one 24 hour period for a selected date - but see also the notes on using Multiple Panes. One or more people can edit the Log simultaneously  across a network. If more than one person is working in the same day, it is possible for one person to overwrite another person's edits. When working in the same day, we suggest that multiple users develop an editing protocol to prevent accidental overwrites. It is most important to save your work as you go.

Broadcast Start Hour and The Editor

The Broadcast Start Hour is defined in the Daypart Assignment window. It defaults to 12A, but can be set from 12A-11A.  When working in the Editor, the 24 hour period accessed starts at the Hour point specified in this field.  For example, if the Broadcast Start Hour is 5A and you edit 8/19, you are editing from 8/19 at 5A through to 8/20 at 4A.

Header Bar Date field with Broadcast Start Hour other than 12A

When a Broadcast Start Hour other than 12A is specified, the Editor starts at the defined Broadcast Start Hour time. So the 24 hour period displayed in the Editor for the selected Scheduled Date will span two days. Under these conditions, the Header field also displays the Date of the actual Broadcast Day being edited.

NOTE:  No matter which method of selection you employ, all multiple Songs (or Links) selected are placed contiguously in the Editor

Drag and Drop Editing

The Editor supports Drag and Drop editing in a number of modes. As you drag, GSelector pops a reminder pane of the item you are dragging.

Drag and Drop in the Editor

Drag and Drop between Multiple Panes

Drag and Drop from Consideration window

Drag and Drop in the Editor

This allows you to move items within the current day.

  1. Click on an Item in the Editor Log pane to select it.
  2. Still left-clicking, drag the Item to a new position.
  3. Release the Mouse click to drop the Log Item. It is inserted above the selected item.

Drag and Drop between Multiple Panes

You can drag and drop between multiple panes in the Editor, but the functionality varies depending on whether you are working with panels on the same or different days. Note that the Cut/Copy/Paste options are not supported across multiple panes.

A drag and drop between 2 panes on the same day moves the item, deleting it from the source hour, and inserting in the target hour.
A drag and drop between 2 panes on different days copies the item, leaving it in place in the source hour but also inserting in the target hour.

Drag and Drop from the Consideration window

See also the working notes in the Editor Consideration window topic.

You can drag items from the Consideration window into the Log pane. GSelector supports the Windows selection conventions listed here. This lets you select one or multiple items in the Consideration window, and then insert the item or items in the Log pane, above a selected log position, or replace the selected position with the selected item or items

  1. Select (see below) one or more Items in the Consideration window.
  2. To insert the selected items into the Log, drag and drop to a Log pane position. The selected items will be inserted above the Log Pane position.
  3. To replace a position in the Log pane with the selected items, drag, press the Ctrl key and drop on that position. The selected items will replace the selected Log Pane position.

Audition Voice Tracks from Zetta

Voice Tracks recorded in Zetta are sent to GSelector. These Voice Tracks can be Auditioned using the Play Controls at the top of the GSelector window or by using the CTRL+F11 keys on the keyboard.

See the Using Audio in GSelector topic for more information on playing audio.

Finding Songs or Links using Filters

GSelector can display the percentage of all Songs or Links, for each hour of the current day, and for four selected time periods, which have a Lowest Score value you can define. To set a Lowest Score Threshold, select the Set Lowest Threshold option immediately beneath the Lowest Score option.

This pane is opened from the Highlight Filter Drop-down menu. It is used to specify the threshold for the Lowest Score filter. Songs and Links with Lowest Scores less than or equal to the specified score are highlighted in the Editor pane.

Viewing percentages of Songs or Links by Threshold or Songs by Filter or List

You can view distribution of Songs or Links by Lowest Score Threshold, or Songs by any selected Filter or List. In this illustration, the score has been set to 75.

  1. Click the Highlight Menu button or press Ctrl+H
  2. In the drop-down menu, select the Lowest Threshold option, or any of the filters or lists.
  3. The selected Lowest Threshold. Filter or List is highlighted, with a right-facing arrow.
  4. Hover the mouse over the selected option, or click the right-facing arrow. A window opens to the right of the filter/list picker pane, showing the percentage of events that match the filter or list for every hour in the current day and for the four hard-coded time ranges.
  5. Select the Time or Time Range to view the highlighted events in the log.

Using Appearances with Highlighted Items with Score Thresholds

To use Appearances with Highlighted items, design and apply an Appearance to the Editor Highlight element in the Appearances Global Assignment window. When a List or Filter is selected in the Highlight Filter drop-down menu, the Appearance defined will be used for matching items.

Things are slightly more complex when working with Score Threshold Highlights:
If the Highlight is based on the Lowest Threshold, as defined in the Highlight Filter drop-down menu, and the Editor Score Threshold option is also enabled, apply Appearances as follows:

If the Highlight value is equal to or greater than the Score Threshold value, use the Highlight Appearance.

If the Highlight value is less than the Score Threshold value, use the Editor Score Threshold Appearance in the Appearances Global Assignment window for elements scoring above or equal to the Highlight value, and use the Editor Highlight appearance for elements scoring below the Highlight value.

The Failure Details window also highlights failures below the Highlight Lowest Threshold using the Editor Highlight appearance. This works regardless of the Highlight setting (None, Lowest, [Current Filter], Filter/List) and cannot be turned off. If the Lowest Threshold is set to 0 it will only highlight unbreakable 0 failures. The Highlight appearance can be set to [None] if Editor Highlight feature is not being used.

Using the Quick Filter

  1. Select a Song or a Link
  2. Click the Quick Filter Button or press Q on the keyboard to open this pane. Song or Link Attributes are displayed in the Left pane.

Any of these options will open the Consideration window, displaying Songs according to what you have selected, from which you pick a Song to insert. See the consideration window notes for more information.

When you insert a Song using any of the methods detailed here, you run the risk of a conflict with the Category Spread Goal. So while all Songs are presented in best order for your selected Goals in the Consideration window, the Category Spread Goal is ignored in this instance. For details on Spread goals, see the Priorities window. When selecting the Twofer option, all songs by the artist that immediately precede this position will be suppressed from the Consideration pane.
