GSelector Menu

This topic gives a brief overview of GSelector menu functions.

  

Click on any Menu item for Help  

 

File menu options

The functions in the section of the menu can be password-protected if required. See the Working with Security topic, and the security notes in Database Servers.

Save (Ctrl+S)

Save any changes in the current window.

Connect to Remote Service Host...

Restarts the GSelector client so the user can select a different Service Host to connect to.

Backup Database...

Opens Backup window

Restore Database...

Opens Restore window

Copy Database...

Opens Copy Database window in Use Current mode. You can also select the Create New Database option in this window.

Open Database...

Where you have multiple databases , this allows you to select a database to open. See the Database Management notes for more information.

Data Exchange...

Send and Receive Database options. See the Data Exchange notes for more information.

Print/Export (Ctrl+P)

Access Print preview pane for the selected window to Print, Export and E-Mail, customized contents from Browse and other windows, where enabled.

Exit (Alt+F4)

 

View menu options

Back and Forward

The menu versions of the Navigation History button functions.

Refresh (F5)

In Multi-user mode, select to see the latest work done in the current window.

Reload Station (Shift + F5)

In Multi-user mode, select to completely update all changes for the station.

 

Stations menu options

Click the Stations option to display a list of all stations, the stations are sorted in organizational order for the logged in organization. When GSelector is logged in as Administrator the stations are listed in alphabetical order. On-Air licensed stations are shown with an On-Air icon in front of the name of the station. The current station shows a selected On-Air icon if it is an On-Air station. If the current station is an Off-Air station there will not be an icon in front of the name of the station. Where a User only has rights to access stations in a specified Organization, only those stations will be displayed in the Stations menu. If the database has 25 or more stations, a 'More' option is shown under Stations. The More option will show with the 25th station highlighted. The user can start typing to do a search by station name. Press Enter or double-click to open the selected station.

 

Opening a Station

Select any station in the list and click to open that station.

 

Editor menu options

The Editor menu is only visible while in the Editor. This menu corresponds to the top toolbar in the Editor. This menu can also be used to restore the Default Toolbar, Reset Toolbar after is has been Customized and Hide/Show Toolbar.

 

Tools menu options

Administration...

Access a Log in window to open the Administration window.

Servers...

Access the Manage Server window for Remote Service Hosts and Database Servers. This option is only available when the user is connected to the Default Service Host Server.

Licensing...

Access the Licensing window.

Login...

Access the Login window to allow the current user to Log in as a different user if required.

Logout

Select to Log out from the currently Login

Interfaces...

Access NexGen and Zetta integration and Research tab windows.

User Activity

The User Activity menu option opens the Activity Log window. Set the Days to retain Non-Schedule Edit History in the History tab of the Setup | Station | Features tab.

Navigation

The Navigation menu option opens a second menu to the Menu F12 (User Definable Navigation), Navigation Templates and Navigation Settings.

Global Settings...

Access the Global Settings window, which has five tabs. Media IDs, to set configure numbering options for Songs and Links; Song Groups, to create and define settings for Song Groups; User-Defined Fields, used to name fields in the Song and Link Additional Information windows;

Appearances Definition, Assignment and Style tabs; and the Artist to Vocalist Settings window.

Configuration...

Access the  Configuration window has the Settings and Jobs tabs. The Settings tab is used to define an Audio Player, Backup path and reminder and Alert settings and the Jobs tab is used to schedule jobs such as Backups, Housekeeping and Scheduling.

Enhancements

Select this option to view a list of Enhancements and Updates to this version of GSelector.

RCS Connect

Select the RCS Connect option to go to the RCS Connect web page to view all the news stories about GSelector and RCS.
