Working with Security Overview

Security is not required in Zetta®, however it is highly recommended that user Accounts are created. Creating Station Groups and Roles before creating accounts in Zetta will make applying security quick and easy when dealing with multiple users with the same level of security. Creating Station Groups allows the administrator to limit the access users have to specific stations, while the Roles determine what areas of Zetta a group of users can access. Talent Grids can also be used to limit a user's access to specific hours of a stations log. Only a select number of rights will be enforced in Zetta2GO, these rights are noted in the Comments section of the tables below.

Important Note!

It is important to change the password of the supervisor to prevent unwanted changes to the system.

Station Groups are used when assigning users to a Role when creating an Account. When a Station Group is created and assigned to a User, the stations that user can access and work on are being defined. An Administrator can create as many Station Groups as needed, with different combinations of stations. A Station can be part of more than one Station Group. Station Groups are used when assigning users to a Role when creating an Account and for grouping stations for Multisite Voice Tracking and Site Replication. Station Groups are also used for assigning groups of stations to asset Cuts. Station Groups are defined in the Station Groups window of the Configuration menu.

Roles can be used to set up groups of users and then limit their access to specific Zetta functions. These Roles can be Zetta Roles or Windows Roles that have been defined in windows such as computer groups or domain groups. The Administrators role is created on install with ALL rights to Zetta. Users are assigned a Role when creating an Account. Roles are specified in the Roles window of the Configuration menu.

Accounts are used to further tighten security as well as allow the user to define their own workspace using Layouts and Themes. Accounts are added in the Accounts window of the Configuration menu.

Talent Grids are used to limit a user's access to specific hours of a stations log or clock. Talent Grids are defined in the Talent Grids window of the Configuration menu.
