Local Audio Storage

The Local Audio Storage is used to improve playback performance for the local player, while reducing network load. It also is valuable in cases of hardware or network failure, where an Emergency On-Air Local Mode is needed, by making resources available locally. Finally, remote, or off-site playback can also be enhanced by locally storing resources on the system to be used at the remote location.

Local Audio Storage is enabled by default for Log Scheduled Assets. The default setting will only store audio on the computers running the Station (Sequencer). Assets in the log are stored for 24 future hours and the past 6 hours from the current playtime. As items are added, edited, and saved to the log they are stored locally and marked as available for play for the specified hours. The player will look to the Local Audio Store for the audio first, if the audio is not found in the Local Audio Store, Zetta will fall back to Content Store. If multiple Stores are defined, Zetta will first look at the Playback Priority profile, if a profile is not defined it will look the audio up in the order set in Content Stores Configuration. The Content Store order can be changed on a per-computer basis, see Audio Store Playback priority in the Computer Details tab.

Local Audio Storage toolbar

Advanced - Use the Advanced drop-down button to select Force Full Synchronization. When the Force Full Synchronization option will tell Zetta to localize the assets selected in the Audio to Localize section of this window.

Local Audio Store

The Local Audio Store is the path on the local computer for Zetta to store local audio. When the path is specified the Free space for the specified drive will be shown. The audio is stored on the local computer in the same directory structure in windows as seen in the Audio Content Store defined in the Content Stores section of this guide. The default location of the local audio is C:\ProgramData\RCS\Zetta\LocalStore.

Audio localization scope

The Audio localization scope drop-down is used to select the scope of the audio to be backed up to the Local Audio Store. The following Audio localization scope options are available:

None - When Audio localization scope is set to none, the local caching for station audio will be disabled. This is the default setting for the Audio localization scope.

Entire Library - Selecting the Entire Library will cache all the library assets, active and inactive, to the local computer. Ensure the local computer has the space available before selecting this option.

Station-related - The Station-related is the default setting for new computers. Zetta will cache any station related assets for the Stations automatically derived from configuration and any additional stations selected to localize on this computer based on the Audio to Localize options selected.

The estimated required space will be shown and will dynamically change based on this scope and the Audio to Localize options are selected. When there is plenty of space available this is shown in green. This text information changes to orange when space is getting low and red when the space available is limited.

Stations automatically derived from configuration

The stations automatically derived from configuration are the Computer-assigned via Station configuration and the Computer-assigned via Hot Spare configuration. If 'Computer-assigned via Station configuration' is selected, stations that use a sequencer stream group that are assigned to that computer will be included. If 'Computer-assigned via Hot Spare configuration' is selected, assigned stations that have hot spares that use a sequencer stream group that are assigned to that computer will be included. Hover the mouse over the blue information bubbles to view the assigned stations. The assets localized for the stations are based on the selections in the Audio to Localize section.

Stations to localize on this computer

The Stations to Localize on this computer section can be used to selected additional Stations and Station Groups for audio localization. The assets localized for the stations are based on the selections in the Audio to Localize section.

Audio to Localize

When Station-related is selected as the Audio to localize the following options are available. The estimated required space will be shown and will dynamically change based on what options are selected.

All Station(s) Assets - The All Station(s) Assets option will cache all the assets that are active for the station(s) for the Computer-assigned via station configuration and for the station(s) for the Computer-assigned via Hot Spare configuration.

Log Scheduled Assets - The Log Schedule Assets option will cache the assets that are scheduled to play, for the station(s) for the Computer-assigned via station configuration and for the station(s) for the Computer-assigned via Hot Spare configuration, for the past hours and future hours specified, with a maximum of 336 hours for each. As the log progresses, old assets are purged, and new assets are added to the localized content. Select to "Use 'Station Hotline' or 'Computer Local Time' to determine the Log window to localize".

Station Hotline - The station hotline is the currently playing position in the station log. Zetta will calculate the window it needs to localize the log schedule based on the station hotline (x hours before, x hours after). This is the default setting and is typically the best used.

Computer Local Time - The Computer Local Time is the sequencer computer current time. Zetta will calculate the window it needs to localize the log schedule based on the sequencer computer's current time (x hours before, x hours after). This may be helpful in certain environments where station's sequencers are left idle for hours or days resulting in the hotline not moving.

Hot keys - If 'Computer-assigned via Station configuration' is selected, stations that use a hot key stream group that are assigned to that computer will be included. If 'Computer-assigned via Hot Spare configuration' is selected, assigned stations that have hot spares that use a hot key stream group that are assigned to that computer will be included. Optionally, select the check box to 'Also include Hot Key banks without Station assignments' checkbox, to cache audio on banks that are available to All Stations.

Stacks - If 'Computer-assigned via Station configuration' is selected, stations that use a stacks stream group that are assigned to that computer will be included. If 'Computer-assigned via Hot Spare configuration' is selected, assigned stations that have hot spares that use a stack stream group that are assigned to that computer will be included. Optionally, select the check box to 'Also include Stacks without Station assignments' checkbox, to cache audio in stacks that are available to All Stations.

ETM Fill Category - This will localize all assets that are active in the ETM Fill Category which assigned in the ETM & Fill tab in the Station Configuration window for the stations included in the Stations automatically derived from configuration and Stations to localize on this computer sections above.

Spot Block Fill Category - This will localize all assets that are active in the Spot Block Fill Category which assigned in the ETM & Fill tab in the Station Configuration window for the stations included in the Stations automatically derived from configuration and Stations to localize on this computer sections above.

Rotations - This will localize ALL Rotations for all stations.

Warning: when Rotations is enabled, ALL Rotations will be localized.

Tags - This will localize all the Tag assets assigned to the stations included in the Stations automatically derived from configuration and Stations to localize on this computer sections above.

Imaging - This will localize all the Imaging assets assigned to the stations included in the Stations automatically derived from configuration and Stations to localize on this computer sections above.
