Shifts

Shifts allow the control of GPIO tasks. Shifts are connected to Imaging in the Library so Zetta plays the correct audio imaging assets at the correct time. The user can select a command or event to fire at the Start and End of a shift so when the Execute Command Sequencer.SetShift is played in the log that selected command or event plays. The commands available here are the same commands available in the System Command Mappings tab. The left section of this tab shows the list of shifts for the station. If the Shift has a check next to it, that means the shift is the default shift for the station. If the shift has a left arrow next to it that means the shift is the current shift for the station. Shifts are not required to use Imaging in Zetta but can be a very powerful tool when configured.

Example: Shifts can be used with Network mode to change shifts for each type of network show.

Configure Shifts for a Station

See the Network Mode topic in the Features section for additional instructions on using Shifts.

Shifts Toolbar

Add Shift – The Add Shift button is used to create new shifts for the station.

Delete Shift – The Delete Shift button will remove the selected shift from Zetta.

Shifts List

The List pane below the shifts toolbar will list all the shifts for the station. The selected shift will show the shift details in the right pane. The columns in the Shift list pane can be reorganized to fit the user’s needs and Custom Filtering can be used to filter the contents of the pane.

Name

The name is automatically filled in when the user clicks the Add button but can be changed if needed.

Description

The Description field can be used to describe the use of the shift.

Shift Details

The Details tab is used to set the default and, current shift and the Execute command for when the shift starts and stops for each shift.

Default Shift

The default shift is the shift that Zetta will switch to when the Execute Command Sequencer.SetShift is played in the log with the shift designation of <Default>. If no shift is set as the Default Shift then Zetta will not set a shift and there will be no shift visible in the title bar of the On-Air window.

Current Shift

The Current Shift option allows the user to change the current shift. The current shift is marked with an arrow in the right list pane. The Shift can also be changed by mapping the Sequencer.SetShift command to a GPIO or Keyboard mapping in the Command Mappings tab of the System Configuration window.

Execute on Shift start

The Execute on Shift start option is used to select a command to execute in the log when a shift change occurs for the station (Sequencer.SetShift). When a shift becomes the Current Shift the Execute on Shift Start command event will execute. The Execute on Shift Start command can be a macro that fires a sequence of events. When the Execute Command field is selected the Properties pane is populated. This is where the user will select the Task Type and any Parameters needed. Not all tasks have Parameters.

Execute on Shift end

The Execute on Shift end option is used to select a command to execute in the log when the shift ends or changes to another shift for the station. When a shift stops being the Current Shift the Execute on Shift End command will execute. When the Execute Command field is selected the Properties pane is populated. This is where the user will select the Task Type and any Parameters needed. Not all tasks have Parameters.

Properties pane

The Properties pane is used to select the Task Type and any Parameters needed. Not all tasks have Parameters.

Task Type - The Task Type is the task for Zetta® to perform when a GPI or GPO is detected. This field has an Auto Complete feature where the user can start typing the name of the task type and Zetta will match what is typed with the existing entries.

Parameters – The Parameters are specific parameters based on the Task Type selected. Such as a Station, Route or GPO.

Input Trigger Mappings (GPIs)

The Input Trigger Mappings (GPIs) tab is used to add GPI events that will be executed by the sequencer for the station during the shift. These GPI Events will be in addition to any global GPI events defined in Configuration | System | Command Mappings. When the Execute Command field is selected the Properties pane is populated. This is where the user will select the Task Type and any Parameters needed. Not all tasks have Parameters.

Add GPI Event - Use the Add GPI Event to add events that will be executed by the sequencer for the station during the shift.

Delete Selected GPI Event - Use the Delete Selected GPI Event to remove a selected GPI Event from the Shift configuration.

Important Note!

If GPI input 1 is defined in a global command mapping as Play Next and it is also defined in the shift as Play Library Item (Liner A), then when the shift is active in the log, if GPI 1 is received both the next event and the liner will play at the same time.

Active – The Active checkbox allows the user to enable or disable the use of the GPI mapping.

Capture - The Capture checkbox tells Zetta to allow the capture of this command in a record control event. This is typically used for Background Recordings when the 'Capture Station GPI Triggers' is enabled in the Record Properties. Clear the checkbox to prevent the command from being captured.

GPI Trigger – The GPI Trigger is the device event trigger to tell Zetta® to perform the command assigned. This field has an Auto Complete feature where the user can start typing the name of the GPI and Zetta will match what is typed with the existing entries.

Directional Arrow - This arrow simply shows the direction of work flow for this window.

Execute Command – When the Execute Command field is selected the Properties pane is populated. This is where the user will select the Task Type and any Parameters needed. Not all tasks have Parameters. Use the Delete keyboard key to clear the contents of the selected Execute Command field.

Output Event Mappings (GPOs)

The Output Event Mappings (GPOs) tab is used to add GPO events that will be executed by the sequencer for the station during the shift. These GPO Events will be in addition to any GPO events defined in Configuration | System | Command Mappings. When the Output Event field is selected the Properties pane is populated. This is where the user will select the Task Type and any Parameters needed. Not all tasks have Parameters.

Add Trigger GPO / Execute Command - The Add Trigger GPO button has a drop-down arrow to allow the user to map to a Trigger GPO or Execute Command. Trigger GPO is the default add selection. To change this default to Execute Command simply right-click the menu option to move the default check mark to Execute Command. When Trigger GPO is selected the Task Type will default to Gpio.TriggerGpo in the Execute Command column. If Execute Command is selected, the Task Type will need to be selected with the Task Type drop-down in the Properties window.

Delete Selected GPO Event - Use the Delete Selected GPO Event to remove a selected GPO Event from the Shift configuration.

Active – The Active checkbox allows the used to enable or disable the use of the GPO mapping.

Capture - The Capture checkbox tells Zetta to allow the capture of this command in a record control event. This is typically used for Background Recordings when the 'Capture Station Output Events' is enabled in the Record Properties. Clear the checkbox to prevent the command from being captured.

Output Event – Output Event is the task for Zetta to perform. When the Output Event field is selected the Properties window for the Output event is populated.

Directional Arrow - This arrow simply shows the direction of work flow for this window.

Execute Command – When the Execute Command field is selected the Properties window is populated. This is where the user will select the Task Type and any Parameters needed. Not all tasks have Parameters. To map a GPO use the Gpio.TriggerGpo Task Type. Use the Delete keyboard key to clear the contents of the selected Execute Command field.
