Custom Filtering

Within many of the Zetta® windows and modules there is the ability to Custom Filter the data to refine the information displayed. This allows for better reporting and tracking of details and data collected. Some windows use the filter filter icon in the column header while others, such as the Reports window allow the user to enter the text to match on based on a selected operator operator. Additional Filter options are also available from the filter drop-down based on the column of data being used as seen here in the Reports window:

Simply select the Operator to filter on and enter the text. Optionally use the drop-down to select the value to filter on. To clear the filter, click the filter button to the right of the filter field or use the ESC key on the keyboard.

Clicking the (Custom) option from one of the drop-downs will display the following Custom Filter Selection window. This Custom Filter Selection window will allow the user to create conditions and groups of conditions to filter the information.

From the Custom Filter Selection window, filtering conditions can be created using the following tools:

Add Condition – The Add Condition button is used to add a filter condition, the default condition uses the  ‘And’ Grouping.

Remove Condition(s) – The Remove Condition(s) button can be used to delete one or several conditions from the custom filter.

'And' Group - The And Group button is used to Group 2 or more ‘And’ conditions.

'Or' Group - The Or Group button is used to Group 2 or more  ‘Or’ conditions.

Toggle – The Toggle button allows the user to switch the conditions or group of conditions to an ‘And’ condition or an  ‘Or’ condition, alternatively clicking the colored band to the left of the condition operator will also toggle the conditions.

Ungroup - The Ungroup button is used to ungroup a grouping of conditions.

 

Custom Filtering Step-by-Step

To use Custom filtering, follow these steps.

  1. Click on the Filter icon from the desired column to filter.
  2. Select (Custom) from the filter drop-down menu
  1. Click Add Condition button
  2. Select an Operator from the drop-down
  1. Select or Enter in an Operand value
  2. Select Add Condition to add additional conditions as desired
  3. Click the Toggle button to change the Grouping to an ‘Or’ Group if desired
  4. To group the conditions select the arrow to the right of the condition and hold the CTRL key while clicking an adjacent condition arrow , then click the desired Group button
  5. Click OK. The column header will change color and show the filter conditions.
  6. To return to All data, click the Filter icon again.
