Publish Content

The Publish window is used to view and publish a group of mixed content such as an Episode or Podcast to a configured Location from the log. The Publish button in the Logs module toolbar is used to access this window. The Publish feature uses the configured Publish types from the Publish tab in the System Configuration window. The Publish window has two tabs at the bottom of the window, the default tab is the Publish tab used to view the events being published. The Multitrack Viewer displays the audio waveform in the sequence they will be played and allows the user to listen to how the audio will play.

Publish Type

The Publish Type drop-down is used to select a defined Publish instance to use for the Published content.

 

Name

The Name field is the name of the files that will be created when the selected events are mixed down into one audio file and/or one metadata file. The file name is derived from the Publish instance name, the Computer name, the date and the time it was published.

 

Publish button

The Publish button will start the processes of mixing down the audio and creating the metadata file that will be placed in the locations defined in the Publish instance.

 

Publish tab

The Publish tab shows the list of events that will be published.

 

Multitrack Viewer

The Multitrack viewer tab found at the bottom of the Publish window is used to view the waveforms of the sequence of events selected to be published and play these event using the play controls found at the bottom of the window. The timeline of the events are shown over three tracks in a zigzag pattern with a Zoom Control bar at the bottom of the tracks. The audio is played out of the selected Zetta Editor Audio Output selected in the Audio Assignments tab of the Computers configuration. These play controls can also be mapped to the Multitrack commands used in the Command Mappings configuration.

 

Time line

The Time line below the project tracks will allow the user to navigate to any place in the audio by clicking the mouse in the time line or anywhere in the project the play marker will move to the clicked location.

 

Zoom/Pan

The Zoom/Pan allows the user to zoom into the waveform and pan to the left or right. The mouse wheel can also be used to zoom in and out of the waveform. To zoom into a specific section of the waveform using the mouse wheel, simply hover the mouse cursor over the desired location in the waveform and use the mouse wheel scroll down to Zoom in. The user can also right-click the zoom/pan and use the resulting menu to Zoom or Pan.

Left Edge - The Left Edge option will move the zoom/pan position to the far left of the tracks.

Right Edge - The Right Edge option will move the zoom/pan position to the far right of the tracks.

Page Left - The Page Left option will move the zoom/pan to the left, equal to the amount of the Zoomed position.

Page Right - The Page Right option will move the zoom/pan to the right, equal to the amount of the Zoomed position.

Scroll Left - The Scroll Left option will move the zoom/pan to the left.

Scroll Right - The Scroll Right option will move the zoom/pan to the right.

Zoom In - The Zoom In option will zoom into the tracks.

Zoom Out - The Zoom Out option will zoom the tracks out.  

Show All - The Show All option will zoom the tracks in the project out to view the entire track.

 

Play Controls

Play Selection - The Play Selection button will play the audio within the highlighted selection. This button is not used in this window.

Play Outside Selection - The Play Outside Selection button will play 2 seconds of audio on each side of the highlighted selection. This button is not used in this window.

Go to start – The Go to start button will move the play marker to the beginning of the Tracks or position 00 in the Time Line.

Rewind – The rewind button will rewind the audio by five seconds every time it is used.

Stop – Stop will stop the play or record and move the play marker back to the beginning of the Tracks or position 00 in the Time Line.

Play – Play will play the audio starting from the play marker.

Pause - The Pause button will pause any audio playing and hold the play position.

Fast forward – Fast Forward will fast-forward the play marker five seconds in the audio each time it is clicked.

Go to end – The Go to end will move the Play marker to the end of the audio of the enabled track farthest to the right.

 

Play Cursor Time Position

The Play Time to the right of the Play Controls shows the play cursor position and if a section is highlighted will also show the In, Out and Time of the highlighted selection. The large number shows the cursor play position and the smaller numbers show the In position, Out position and the Total Time of the highlighted selection.

 

Publish Log Content

To Publish content from the log, perform the following:

  1. Determine if the Publish will be Audio and Metadata, just Audio or just Metadata.
  2. Create a Location(s) to place the Audio and Metadata.
  3. Create a Publish type for Audio and Metadata, just Audio or just Metadata.
  4. Open the Log Module
  5. Select the Station
  6. Locate the events to Publish.
  7. Select the down arrow next to the Publish toolbar button to select the Publish type.
  8. Use the Publish tab to view the content to be published.
  9. Use the Multitrack Viewer tab to view the Audio waveforms and play the events to be published.
  10. Click the Publish button.
