Log Event Settings

The Log Event Settings tab is used to configure settings for each asset type for the station. From this tab the user can configure whether to reconcile assets played from Hot Keys (Zetta2GO Hot Keys), Stacks and Z-Player and at what point of play the asset will be treated as played. The Fixed and Stretch flags can also be set for assets inserted into Logs, Clocks and Mini Logs using this window. Access this tab from the Station Configuration window for the selected station.

Log Event Settings Grid

The Grid in the top of the Log Event Settings tab shows at a glance the audio assets that will be reconciled when played and the threshold at which the asset is considered played by the sequencer. The grid also shows if the event type will be set as Fixed and Stretched when inserted into the Logs and Clocks or as part of a Mini-Log loaded into a Log. Selecting a row in the grid will give access to the settings, for the event type, in the bottom section of Log Event Settings window.

Reconcile plays from other modules via Log

The Reconcile plays from other modules via Log section lists the modules that can be selected where the asset will be reconciled with GSelector or Flat File. The module must be in On-Air mode for the play of the asset to be considered for reconciliation. When an asset is played in the module selected, Zetta will check the actual runtime against the percent of runtime or actual time in seconds specified in the Treat event as Played if on-air for section of this window. If the percent of runtime or actual time in seconds is met then the asset will be injected into the log and reconciled. When the event is injected into the log, it will show with the injected icon next to the event. To hide/show these events, select Injected in the Filter button in the Logs Module toolbar. Hover the mouse over the event to view the name of the module from which it was injected. These Injected events can also have an appearance in the Log by adjusting the Injected Event settings in the Log Editor section of the Themes & Appearances Configuration window.

Default to Fixed for inserts to

The 'Default to Fixed for insert to' section is used the select if the selected event type should be Fixed when inserted into a Log, Clock or as part of a Mini-Log loaded into a Log. The check boxes will only be available if they are appropriate for the selected event type. For example: ETMs are always fixed so the fixed check boxes will be disabled.

Logs - If Logs is checked, an asset of the selected type will be automatically marked as Fixed when inserted into a log. If the Logs option is not checked when an event of the selected type is inserted into the log it will not be automatically set as fixed. If Logs is unchecked, but the event that is inserted is set as Fixed it will remain as Fixed. This setting does not override the fixed setting on individual events.

Clocks - If Clocks is checked, an asset of the selected type will be automatically marked as Fixed when added to a clock. If the Clocks option is not checked when an event of the selected type is inserted into the clock it will not be automatically set as fixed. If Clocks is unchecked, but the event that is inserted is set as Fixed it will remain as Fixed. This setting does not override the fixed setting on individual events.

Mini-Logs loaded into Logs - If Mini-Logs loaded into Logs is checked then assets of the selected type in a mini-log will be marked as Fixed when the mini-log is added to a log and flattened. It does not apply when individual events are dragged from the mini-log and dropped on into a log; only when the mini-log itself is dropped.

Treat Hour Restricted Assets as

The 'Treat Hour Restricted Assets as' setting is used to set how Zetta will treat assets, which are assigned an hour restriction grid, that are place in the log or played during the restricted hour. When Error is selected, Zetta will not allow the asset to be played. When Warning is selected, Zetta will allow the asset to be played but will show a warning to the user. When Ignore is selected, Zetta will ignore the hour restriction and play without warning the user.

As Played treatment

The 'Treat event as Played if on-air for at least' option is used to select how Zetta is to determine if an asset is considered played when the asset is played by the Sequencer. When Percent is selected, Zetta will check the percent of runtime the asset played before considering it as played. If Seconds is selected, Zetta will check the actual time the asset played before considering it as played. This setting will work with the Requeue audio if stopped and has played less than option in the Playback tab to validate the Played and Not Played status of events.

Example:

If I have the settings Requeue audio if stopped and has played less than is set at 1 second and the Treat event as Played if on-air for at least is set at 5 seconds then, if I play a Song from On-Air for 2 seconds then stop it, it will be ejected and marked as not played. If I play a Song from On-Air for 6 seconds then stop it, it will be ejected and marked as played.

Important Note!

If the number of Seconds selected exceeds an event's duration then the event will be injected if it plays to completion.

Events injected into the Log will not be replicated to sites configured with Site Replication.

Default to Stretch for inserts to

The 'Default to Stretched for insert to' section is used the select if the selected event type should be Stretch when inserted into a Log, Clock or as part of a Mini-Log loaded into a Log. The check boxes will only be available if they are appropriate for the selected event type. For example: Execute Commands cannot be stretched so the stretch check boxes will be disabled.

Logs - If Logs is checked, an asset of the selected type will be automatically marked as Stretched when inserted into a log. If the Logs option is not checked when an event of the selected type is inserted into the log it will not be automatically set as stretched. If Logs is unchecked, but the event that is inserted is set as Stretch it will remain as Stretch. This setting does not override the stretch setting on individual events.

Clocks - If Clocks is checked, an asset of the selected type will be automatically marked as Stretch when added to a clock. If the Clocks option is not checked when an event of the selected type is inserted into the clock it will not be automatically set as stretch. If Clocks is unchecked, but the event that is inserted is set as Stretch it will remain as Stretch. This setting does not override the stretch setting on individual events.

Mini-Logs loaded into Logs - If Mini-Logs loaded into Logs is checked then assets of the selected type in a mini-log will be marked as Stretched when the mini-log is added to a log and flattened. It does not apply when individual events are dragged from the mini-log and dropped on into a log; only when the mini-log itself is dropped.

Important Note!

The Fixed and Stretch settings apply only when events are inserted from the Consideration window or dragged-dropped or copy/cut/pasted from a Zetta window other than Logs, Clocks, and Mini-Logs. They do not take effect for mass changes like Site Replication, ZCast, Flat File load, generating from a clock, or importing a Log from GSelector. The do not take effect on inserts when the user is able to set Fixed and Stretch from the place that they originated. For Example: they do not take effect when dragging from a Log, Clock, or Mini-Log window and dropping on a Log or Clock window.

Validating Hour Restriction Uses

The Validating Hour Restriction section is used to set how Zetta is to enforce the hour restriction. Zetta can restrict based on the System Time hour or the Log Hour.

When System Time is set, Zetta will use the ‘clock on the wall time’ to verify if an asset is outside of its Hour Restriction.

Example: If an asset has an Hour Restriction that starts at 10:00 AM and the actual time is 09:59 AM, that asset Is outside of its Hour Restriction and will be treated as such.

When Log Hour is set, Zetta will look at the currently playing hour in the Log and verify against that.

Example: If an asset has an Hour Restriction that starts at 10:00 AM, the actual time is 10:15 AM but the 9AM hour is still being played, the asset is considered outside of its Hour Restriction and will be treated as such.

Preceding Bed Validation

The Preceding Bed Validation settings are used in conjunction with the Bed Validation settings in the Playback tab to create conditions for bed playback. These settings are enabled when the Bed Validation settings in the Playback tab are set to Enabled in all modes or Enabled in Auto/Network modes. The Preceding Bed Validation options are a per Station and per Asset Type Configuration setting allowing the Bed / Donut Bed that precedes the selected event playable. There are two settings in the Preceding Bed Validation section one for Beds with Auto Fade - Preceding 'Bed with auto-fade' event is/is not compatible when coupled with a {Asset Type} and one for Beds with no Fade (Donut) - Preceding 'Bed with no fade (Donut)' event is/is not compatible when coupled with a {Asset Type}. The Bed Validation setting is also shown to assist the user (Auto and Network modes or all modes).

When the Sequencer validates events, for any Bed / Donut Bed event, it proactively seeks forward for the immediately following event:

Use the drop-down to select is or is not. Voice Tracks and Quick Records default to 'is' all other asset types default to 'is not'. Therefore, in the preceding image if the Empty Voice Track Slot is recorded the Bed will be enabled for play.

Virtual Event Capturing

The 'Capture asset type as virtual events in background recording' option tells Zetta to Capture this asset type as a Virtual Event during a Record to Asset Control event. The Capture Station Virtual Events option must be enabled for the Record Control event. This option is checked by default for all Audio Events.
