Enable Daily Backups

Select the Enable Daily Backups check-box and set the Start time for the backup to have Zetta create a SQL Backup of the database. This backup can then be restored to a backup SQL Server.

Daily Backup start time

Use the Daily Backup start time field to set the time of day for the daily back to run.

Enable Transaction Log Backups

Every SQL Server database has a transaction log that records all transactions and the database modifications made by each transaction. The transaction log is a critical component of the database and, if there is a system failure, the transaction log might be required to bring your database back to a consistent state. Transaction log backups can be used to restore a database to a specific point in time. A transaction log backup alone is not sufficient to restore a database.

Backup Transactional Logs every xx minute(s)

Use the Backup Transactional Logs every xx minute(s) field to set how often the transactional logs are backed up. 15 minutes is the default. This field is enabled with the Enable Transaction Logs backups option.

Database Recovery Mode

The Database Recovery Mode option sets the SQL Database Recovery Model. Use this option to set the Database Recovery Model to Full or Simple. If the 'Enable Transaction Log Backups' option is selected the 'Database Recovery Mode' defaults to Full and the option is disabled. When the 'Enable Transaction Log Backups' option is deselected the 'Database Recovery Mode' defaults to Simple but can be changed to Full. For more information on Database Recovery Models see Recovery Models (SQL Server) - MSDN - Microsoft (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189275.aspx)

Delete Backups After X Day(s)

The 'Delete Backup After XX Day(s)' option is used to set the number of days Zetta should retain the backups before deleting them.

Backup/Restore Information

Once the backups are enabled a status is displayed in the Backup/Restore Information section of the window. Use the Refresh button in the toolbar to refresh the status of the backups.
