Translation

Zetta^® and Zetta2GO^® can be translated to many different languages by the user. These translations can be uploaded to RCS^® and shared with the RCS Community. Using the Configuration | System | General tab the user can click the Start Translation button to open the following translation window.

Translation Tools

The Translation window has the following configuration options:

Current Language

The Current Language drop-down allows the user to select a localized language to better suit the sites common speaking language.

Generate Resources

The Generate Resources button saves the translated text to a file. Resource files are saved to C:\ProgramData\RCS\Zetta\Resources of the current computer.

Upload Resources

The Upload Resources button allows the user to upload their version of the translation to share with the RCS Community.

Download Resources

The Download Resources button allows the user to download a translation file from the RCS Community share.

Display Configuration

The Display Configuration changes the display of the window and Control Type Filtering.

Make Translation window Topmost – Checking the Make Translation window Topmost (default) will keep the translation window always the top window. Unchecking this box allows the user to bring other windows in focus for ease of using the filtering feature in translation.

Filter by – The Filter By option allows the user to change what is view based on the filter options.

• All – All will show all Control Types.
• Focused Window – Focused window will show only the controls associated with a specific window. Note: this option is used in conjunction with pressing CTRL + SHIFT + Click to bring the desired window into focus.
• Text Filter – The Text Filter will filter the selection even further based on a matching word in the Text.

Legend

The Legend gives instruction and information about the Translation window.

UI Strings

The UI Strings tab shows the Text within the user interface that the user sees on buttons and within the windows.

String tables

The String tables are the text that is in the drop-downs, warnings, startup manager and other database objects.

Localized Translation

1. Using the Configuration menu, click System
2. Using the General tab, click the Start Translation button.
   
3. Click OK to the 'Close and reopen an open windows to translate them'. Any open window will have to be reopened for the translate to have focus of the window.
4. Click the Current Language drop-drown to select a localized language.
5. If the language has existing translations they will be displayed in the bottom tabbed window.
6. If the window does not have translations or the user would like to change the translation they can easily click in the Localized Text field for the Control Type to be translated.
7. Enter the local translation for the Text of the chosen Control Type.
   
8. Click Generate Resources to save the resources to the computer.

Translating a Focused Window

1. Using the Configuration menu, click System
2. Using the General tab click the Start Translation button.
   
3. Click the Current Language drop-drown to select a localized language.
4. Uncheck the Make Translation window Topmost.
5. Click the Focused window option
6. Open the window or module to be translated.
7. Click CTRL + SHIFT while clicking the text of the window to be translated.
8. The translation window will come to the front and display the Control Types for the selected window or module and the controls highlight will be what was clicked on in the window selected.
   
9. Click in the Localized Text field for the Control Type to be translated.
10. Enter the local translation for the Text of the chosen Control Type.
11. Click Generate Resources to save the resources to the computer.

Translating using Text Filter

1. Using the Configuration Menu, click System.
2. Using the General tab click the Start Translation button to open the translation window.
3. Click OK to the warning.
4. Click the Current Language drop-drown to select a localized language.
5. Uncheck the Make Translation window Topmost
6. Click the Focused window option.
7. Enter the Text Filter to use.
8. Open the window or module to be translated.
9. Click CTRL + SHIFT while clicking an area of the window to be translated.
10. The translation window will come to the front and display the Control Types for the selected window with the Text Filter specified.
    
11. Click in the Localized Text field for the Control Type to be translated.
12. Enter the local translation for the Text of the chosen Control Type.
13. Click Generate Resources to save the resources to the computer.

Uploading Translated Resources

1. Using the Configuration Menu, click System
2. Using the General tab click the Start Translation button to open the translation window.
3. Click the Current Language drop-drown to select a localized language.
4. Edit as needed.
5. Click the Upload Resources button.
   
6. Enter a Domain ID and a comment into the Resource Comment box provided.
7. If the translation is complete, check the Complete Translation box.
8. Click Upload. The file is uploaded to the RCS Server.
9. Click Finished, to close the window.

Downloading Translated Resources

1. Using the Configuration menu, click System
2. Using the General tab click the Start Translation button to open the translation window.
3. Click the Current Language drop-drown to select a localized language.
4. Click the Download Resources button
5. Click the Fetch Resource List button
   
6. Use the Select Resource drop-down to choose a file to download.
7. Click Download to download the selected resources.
   
8. When the download is complete, click Finished to close the window.
9. Click Generate Resources to save the resources to the computer.
