Auto Posting Events

Auto Post is a Chain type used with Links in the Log and Clock to determine how the next scheduled event will play in relation to the current event. Auto Post allows stations to position links such as, Jingles and Station ID's against a songs Intro, in a way where the jingle's end is aligned with the vocal post of the song. This enhances the station's overall sound and is a common part of programming strategies in many stations. The Intro generally refers to a position within the song where the instrumental part ends and the vocal (singing) begins.

The Auto Post Chain type can be set using the Chain column in the Clock or Log or in the Extra tab of the Link's metadata card. If using GSelector® to schedule the logs in Zetta® the Chain type can be set in the Clock, Editor or in the Related Links window. See the GSelector Help Guide for more information on setting the Chain type in GSelector®.

Examples of Auto Posting in Zetta

Auto Posting a link that is shorter than the following song's Intro

In order to achieve the auto post behavior in this example, the song needs to start first, followed by a link later. Notice that the song in track #3 is positioned at the segue point of the song in track #1, and the link is positioned so that it meets the Intro of the song in track #3. The Ducking of the Song to Link is from Trim In to Segue of the Link.

Auto Posting a link that is longer than the following song's Intro

In order to achieve the auto post behavior in this example, the link needs to start first, followed by the song later. Notice how each element is positioned relative to the others, the link is positioned at the segue point of the previous song, and the following song is positioned so that the link's end hits the songs Intro position:

Notice in the above examples that it's the link's Segue point (not the Trim out point) that is aligned with the song's Intro thus allowing you to tighten (or loosen) the gap between the end of the link and the Intro of the song. Also note the surrounding songs are ducked to segue of the link when the link plays. A song can have up to three Intros’; currently Zetta® uses the highest Intro for the Auto Post feature.
